Thoughtful writing and the art of paying attention.

A Million Excuses

I can make a million excuses not to write my daily blog post.

Today, I had a compelling one.

Since early this morning, I was lying on my futon, unable to get up.

My whole body was sore.

From head to toe, it felt as though I’d been hit by a truck.

At first, I thought I had come down with a severe flu.

After spending almost the entire day in bed, I started wondering if it might have been something I drank the evening before.

With dinner, I had a glass of crème de cassis mixed with soda water and ice.

I suspect that wasn’t such a good idea.

Apparently, I don’t handle that kind of alcohol very well anymore.

Strangely enough, beer or whisky has never affected me like this.

Like I said, I could make a million excuses not to write today’s blog post.

Instead, today’s blog post simply became one of those excuses.
