Is It Worth Getting Up Early?

I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep.

Instead of lying in bed, I decided to go for an early morning walk along the Kiso River.

This time, I packed only one drone.

Not because I had a specific flight plan.

Quite the opposite.

I wanted to fly without thinking too much about camera angles and compositions. With the DJI Avata 360, I could simply enjoy the flight and decide on the framing later in post-production.

It felt surprisingly liberating.

I wasn’t chasing a particular shot.

I was just walking, flying, and observing what the morning had to offer.

The light was soft.

The river was quiet.

The birds had already started their day.

Even a passing train somehow felt like it belonged there.

By the time I landed, I realized that what I enjoyed most wasn’t the drone flight itself.

It was having a reason to get outside before the rest of the world had fully woken up.

Maybe that’s the real value of getting up early.

Not to become more productive.

But simply to experience a part of the day that I would normally sleep through.
