This morning, Hiromi and I ventured out to Gujo once again, in search of the stunning autumn foliage higher up in the mountains. Unfortunately, we found fewer red and yellow leaves than we had hoped for.

Nevertheless, we explored various beautiful remote areas, discovering quaint villages that seemed untouched by time.
We parked the car and wandered down unfamiliar paths in the mountain forest, where we stumbled upon small creeks, rivers, enchanting waterfalls, hidden Shinto shrines and even snakes.

As we meandered, we encountered a variety of wildflowers and decided to carefully uproot them, with the intention of replanting them in our garden. We hoped they would thrive and bring beauty to our home again next autumn.

However, by the time we returned home, the wildflowers appeared wilted, so we promptly soaked them in water before planting them in our garden. Iโm not entirely convinced they will survive, but weโll give it our best shot!
