UEFA Euro 2024: Switzerland Advances to Quarter-Finals Amidst Exciting Matches

I’m thrilled by Switzerland’s national football team advancing to the quarter-finals of the UEFA European Championship in 2024! They achieved this by defeating Italy 2-0 in the Round of 16 on June 29, 2024. This marks their second time advancing to this stage, with their previous appearance being in 2020, where they lost to Spain on penalties.

Switzerland’s potential opponents in the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2024 are either England or Slovakia. The match between England and Slovakia is scheduled to take place on June 30, 2024. The winner of this match will face Switzerland in the quarter-finals on July 6, 2024.

The teams that have made it to the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2024 up until today are:

  1. Switzerland (defeated Italy)
  2. Germany (defeated Denmark)

The teams that potentially make it to the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2024 are:

  1. England or Slovakia
  2. Spain or Georgia
  3. France or Belgium
  4. Portugal or Slovenia
  5. Romania or Netherlands
  6. Austria or Tรผrkiye.

I’m thrilled about Switzerland’s performance and can’t wait to set a date and time to watch their next game live from Japan.

Furthermore, I’ll be keeping a close watch on the Dutch team’s performance. The Netherlands will be playing Romania in the Round of 16 of the Euro 2024 on July 2, 2024, at 18:00 local time in Munich.

Yes, the Swiss team have played a terrific tournament so far. Next game against England on Saturday (unfortunately at 1:00AM again…). And with my close connection to Britain, that creates a clear dilemma for me, as I won’t know who to support… ๐Ÿค”

Should Switzerland also be victorious against England (anything is possible!), the Swiss team could then face the Netherlands in the semi-finals. If so, who would you root for??? ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s a fascinating dilemma! Sounds like it comes down to whether you feel more Swiss or British. Personally, I feel primarily Swiss, so I support Switzerland. Despite having lived in the Netherlands for over 30 yearsโ€”twice as long as in Switzerlandโ€”the Netherlands would still be my second favorite. So, if Switzerland plays the Netherlands in the semi-finals, I’d still be rooting for Switzerland!
