Just when I thought our Golden Week trip to Sapporo was all set, a series of unexpected hurdles popped up. Turns out, checking in online for our early morning flight with Peach Airlines wasn’t an option due to booking through an online agency. And to top it off, there’s no train service to get us to Chubu Centrair Airport on time.

We brainstormed solutions—taxis, Uber—but Japan’s lack of Uber options and the potential cost ruled them out. Even driving and parking at the airport proved tricky with our family’s car-sharing needs and the expense of long-term parking.

In a stroke of luck, we found nearby airport hotels and secured a room for tonight. Crisis averted!

Apologies for the vent, I know these are privileged problems. But hey, sometimes life throws curveballs, right? Sharing our slice of Japanese adventure amidst the chaos. 🇯🇵

Yes, life is not always plain sailing, but it’s how we react to those curveballs that really matters. Besides, without those little “surprises”, life would be boring, wouldn’t it? Glad you found a solution. Enjoy your time in Hokkaido!
