Since my arrival in Japan last March, I’ve made it a daily ritual to pen down my thoughts and experiences in the form of blog posts. Each day, without fail, I’ve shared my perspectives with fellow Japan enthusiasts.

The motivation behind this daily endeavor is quite simple: I’m passionate about sharing my journey in Japan with others. While I anticipated the challenge of consistently finding new and interesting topics to write about, I embraced it wholeheartedly.

I never set out to write lengthy essays every day. Instead, I aimed for brevity, understanding that my readers likely have limited time to spare. Keeping my posts concise and to the point ensures they remain engaging and memorable.

When it comes to choosing topics, I must admit, I’m a bit selfish. I write about whatever piques my curiosity, regardless of whether it aligns with my readers’ interests. While this approach may seem risky, it has its benefits. By staying true to my own interests, I attract readers who share my passion, forming a community of like-minded individuals.

Diversifying my topics on a daily basis has forced me to push past my own mental boundaries. As someone who tends to stick to what works, I’ve found this challenge to be both daunting and exhilarating. Each day presents an opportunity to explore new perspectives and tap into my creativity.

Moreover, delving into unfamiliar aspects of Japanese culture has become a learning journey for me. Whenever I encounter a topic I’m not well-versed in, I seize the opportunity to expand my knowledge. Not only does this enrich my own understanding, but it also allows me to share valuable insights with fellow Japan enthusiasts.

Of course, there are days when inspiration eludes me, and I struggle to find Japan-related content to write about. But I’ve come to accept these moments as part of the creative process, understanding that it’s perfectly normal to experience occasional dry spells.

In the end, my daily blogging journey is not just about sharing my experiencesโ€”it’s about fostering a sense of community, pushing my creative boundaries, and continuously learning and growing.

    I admire your consistency!
Producing a blog post every day is no easy feat! I had set out to write a weekly (albeit much longer and more in-depth) post, and am miserably failing at that – not for lack of ideas or motivation, but the simple lack of the so precious commodity called time. That is also the reason why I usually binge-read your posts at weekends, when I can find the time. I like the wide variety of topics, many of which I can relate to, and I’m sure that many other foreigners living in Japan can as well. Keep it up!

      Rolf,

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! Your support means a lot to me. I understand the challenges of finding time to write, but your commitment to your own blog is commendable. Your dedication to longer, in-depth posts is admirable, and I always enjoy reading your insights.

I’m glad you appreciate the variety of topics on my blog, and it’s great to know they resonate with you and others living in Japan.

As for finding time to write, I completely understand. For me, the golden hour tends to be around 9 to 10 pm, when the day winds down and inspiration strikes.

Thank you again for your support, and I look forward to reading your next blog post! Your posts are always a pleasure to read.
