Gifu’s Winter Wonderland

There has been some snowfall in the northern parts of Gifu Prefecture, and I am filled with excitement to explore this enchanting winter wonderland. The fresh snow blankets the picturesque landscapes, transforming them into a breathtaking sight. The majestic, snow-capped mountains and serene, snow-covered forests ignite a whirlwind of anticipation within me. I can hardly wait to capture this stunning scenery and share my adventures with all of you.

Looking back, I remember creating a rather amateurish video over five years ago when Hiromi and I visited Shirakawago. Feel free to watch it, cringe, and chuckle at my videography skills. Nonetheless, it beautifully showcases how Shirakawago looks under a blanket of snow.

What intrigues me most is the opportunity to ski during the day and then soothe my muscles in a natural outdoor onsen afterward. This is an experience that I never dreamed possible while skiing the beautiful slopes of Switzerland and France. Fingers crossed that I can embark on this unique adventure in Japan soon!
