Lately, Iβve been shifting from flying FPV to exploring cinematic aerial videography.
Why?
Because I had this idea of filming with a 360ΒΊ cameraβspecifically, the DJI Osmo 360βfrom the same brand I use for my drones and other gear.
It all works like a charm because the technology and user interface are the same. Itβs like working within one ecosystemβlike using an iPhone with a MacBook Air. Everything connects seamlessly without too much hassle.
But this isnβt really about brand convenience.
Itβs about learning and stacking different creative skillsβeach one complementing the otherβto produce something new and valuable.
FPV flying is pure fun for me. But Iβve realized that most YouTube viewers arenβt really watching for how many tricks I can pull off in three minutes. Theyβre drawn to excitement, beauty, and storytellingβthings like breathtaking landscapes and travel experiences. Thatβs where cinematic aerial videography comes in.
And lately, Iβve discovered something else viewers love: 360ΒΊ video. It lets them sit in the pilotβs seatβfrom the comfort of their living room or wherever they are.
Maybe a demonstration will explain it better. Hereβs my latest 360ΒΊ video from when I flew my FPV drone with a 360ΒΊ camera mounted on it at the summit of Mount Dodogamine in Gifu.
