Lately, Iโve been having so much fun with droning and hiking here in Japan. The weather has finally become perfect for spending time outdoors, and using my video and audio gear to capture these moments has turned into second nature. Not everything I shoot or edit comes out amazing, but thatโs not the pointโitโs simply become a habit to press record whenever something catches my eye.
Vlogging and talking on camera also feel easier now. Iโve learned that all it really takes is to show up and hit that record button.
So why am I sharing this? Because I felt my drone channel became too focused on only FPV drone videos and vlogs. I wanted to expand and share moreโdifferent kinds of experiences. Living here in central Japan, surrounded by mountains, forests, and hidden gems, gives me so many opportunities to do that.
Thatโs why I recently started a second YouTube channel: Karl Trail Adventures in Japan. On this channel, I post short hiking vlogs and little explorations of the hidden places I visit. My camera gear is lightweight and hassle-free, which makes it easier than ever to create videos while Iโm out on the trails.
I donโt know exactly where this new channel will take me, but as long as I enjoy filming, editing, and sharing my adventures, Iโm happy to keep posting weekly trail videos. Why not, right?
Here on my blog, I usually write about life in Japan and whatever sparks my curiosity. But through this new channel, I can also tell small stories of daily life in Japan while being outdoors.
If drones arenโt really your thing, I get it. But if youโd like a glimpse into the life of a Swiss living in Japanโexploring hidden gems, hiking through forests, enjoying mountain views, and visiting waterfallsโthen this channel might be for you.
