This morning, right after finishing my daily yoga practice, I felt drawn to step outside and embrace the fresh air. I packed my gear and headed out to one of my favorite secluded FPV spotsโa quiet valley near Gifu City, not far from the peaceful flow of the Nagara River.
I didnโt have any particular moves or goals in mind. Lately, Iโve been practicing FPV maneuvers so much that it started to feel repetitiveโboth to fly and to watch. Today, I just wanted to fly. No drills, no pressureโjust a slow, flowing exploration of the valley, letting my eyes guide my movements.
After several gloomy days, the sky finally opened up. The rain had lifted, revealing a wide expanse of blue and warm sun. It felt like a blessingโperhaps my teru teru bลzu really had worked its charm.
With that sense of calm still lingering from yoga, I set up my gear. Drones, camera, audioโeverything came together quietly and smoothly. The moment I took off, it felt like slipping into a meditative state all over again. Just me, the sky, the trees, and the hum of my drone gliding through this hidden corner of the world.
Later, as I sat down to edit, I found myself struggling to frame the footage into a typical โstory.โ There wasnโt one. But there was something elseโthe soft, immersive sound of the valley. Birds in the distance, insects buzzing, wind brushing against leaves, and the familiar sound of me setting up, breathing slowly, and gently talking to myself.
For once, the audio was flawless.
The solution? I finally solved the audio interference issue Iโd been havingโnot through the DJI Mic Mini or Osmo Action 4 settings, but by manually adjusting the channel and frequency in the DJI Goggles 3 settings while flying the DJI Avata 2 and Neo. I set the transmission frequency to 10MHz, which completely eliminated the usual signal interference with my vlogging camera set up. No more audio drops. No more static. Just clean, subtle soundโcapturing every detail of my voice and the natural ambiance around me. I know…NERD ALERT but anyway…
This is ASMR.
What Is ASMR?
ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a term thatโs gained popularity in the digital world. It describes a calm, pleasurable response to specific auditory or visual triggersโlike soft whispers, tapping, or the sounds of nature. Many people use ASMR videos to relax, reduce anxiety, or even help them fall asleep.
Itโs not just about the sound itselfโitโs about the feeling. The immersion. The subtlety. The way simple, natural moments can bring peace.
ASMR Meets FPV
This wasnโt planned as an ASMR video, but the vibe of the flight, combined with the gentle background sounds, gave it that exact effect. And I liked it.
FPV doesnโt always have to be about flips, speed, or intensity. Sometimes it can be soft, meditative, and even healing. So now, Iโm experimenting. This flight became my first ASMR FPV Practice videoโa quiet, scenic flight with real ambient sound, captured in one of the most peaceful places I know.
Maybe Iโll do more of these. Not every flight needs to push limits. Some just need to breathe.
If youโre someone who enjoys nature, needs a calming moment, or simply loves the sound of peaceful droning in a valley on a clear morningโthis oneโs for you.
