Discover Your Archetype: Insights for Content Creators

Out of curiosity, I recently asked ChatGPT to analyze my blog and YouTube channelโ€”just to see what kind of archetype I might represent based on my personality, content, and voice.

I didnโ€™t expect muchโ€ฆ but the result? Surprisingly accurate. Also kind of fun.

For anyone unfamiliar with the concept, archetypes are universal character patterns or themes found across stories, myths, brands, and even people. Think of them like inner โ€œrolesโ€ or driving forces that shape how we see the world and what motivates us.

There are many archetypes, but hereโ€™s what came up for me:

๐Ÿงญ The Explorer โ€“ My Core

This one hit home. The Explorer thrives on freedom, discovery, and pushing boundaries. Itโ€™s the type that says, โ€œDonโ€™t fence me in.โ€

Whether itโ€™s through FPV drone flights, living in Japan, or just sharing my personal growth journey, I realized that exploration has always been at the center of what I do.

Not just external explorationโ€”like places and landscapesโ€”but also internal. Iโ€™ve been on a deep dive into things like mindset, discipline, purpose, and possibility. The Explorer in me loves learning by doing.

๐Ÿง  The Sage โ€“ My Mindset

The Sage is the archetype of the seeker, the student, the teacher. Itโ€™s about understanding life and passing that insight along.

I definitely resonate with this. Iโ€™ve always been someone who likes to connect the dots, find patterns, and reflect on what an experience teaches me. Thatโ€™s what drives many of my blog posts.

Even in my FPV vlogs, Iโ€™m not just showing how I flyโ€”I often share the lessons behind the mistakes, the growth thatโ€™s happening behind the scenes.

๐ŸŽจ The Creator โ€“ My Expression

Last but not least: The Creator. This archetype is all about making things with meaning. Creating something that lasts, inspires, or simply feels true.

I donโ€™t make content to go viralโ€”I do it to express, reflect, and evolve. I want the things I put out thereโ€”videos, blog posts, or photosโ€”to feel like me. Not perfect, but authentic.

The Creator is what makes the process worth it.

Why This Was Worth Doing

Honestly, I didnโ€™t expect to relate to a โ€œpersonality type breakdownโ€ this much. But this little exercise helped me understand why I do what I doโ€”and why certain formats or projects feel more energizing than others.

It also gave me a clearer lens to look through when making future content. If what I create doesnโ€™t speak to exploration, reflection, or creative expressionโ€ฆ I know I might be off-track.

Try It Yourself?

If youโ€™re a content creator, blogger, or even just curious about your own inner drives, looking into archetypes is surprisingly insightful.

Ask yourself:

  • What motivates me to keep going?
  • What themes show up again and again in my content or choices?
  • Do I lean more toward adventure, wisdom, beauty, service, leadership?

You might be surprised at what you find.

We seem to share the Explorer as the primary archetype (no surprises there!), as well as the Sage. The third one that showed up for me was the Innocent (the sense of wonder and appreciation for the beauty in everyday life in Japan reflects the Innocent’s optimism and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.).
Very interesting indeed, and spot on, I would say!
