Think about how often we update our phones or computers.
Not because theyโre broken, but because without updates, they start running slower, become incompatible with new tools, and eventually hold us back from getting things done.
What if the same thing happens to us?
You see, the โoperating systemโ we all run onโour beliefs, habits, and routinesโmay have served us perfectly well in the past. But life keeps changing, and what worked five, ten, or twenty years ago may no longer fit the reality youโre living in today.
I came to this realization myself when I noticed my physical strength wasnโt what it used to be.
For years, I didnโt need to think much about it. But as time passed, I started to see that if I didnโt actively adjust my habits, I was running on outdated settingsโones that no longer served me.
Thatโs when I asked myself:
- What do I need to update?
- What beliefs or habits have become outdated?
- What small steps can I take to install something new that fits where I am now?
It wasnโt about making huge life changes overnight.
It started with awarenessโand the willingness to admit that what used to work, might not be enough anymore.
So hereโs something worth asking yourself:
- Where in your life might you be running on an outdated operating system?
- What small updates could make a big difference going forward?
Updating isnโt always comfortable, but staying stuck on old versions of ourselves usually costs us more in the long run.
