Isnโt nature just the ultimate joker? Here I am, basking in the glorious sight of cherry blossoms in full bloom, petals dancing in the gentle breeze as if theyโre auditioning for a flower show. Meanwhile, a mere 90 minutes away in Takayama and Shirakawa, those cherry blossoms mustโve hit the snooze button because they havenโt even cracked a bud yet!

Itโs a cozy 20 degrees Celsius here, making me feel like Iโm eligible for a spring picnic, while the mountain folks are still wrestling with snow roadblocks and contemplating whether they should switch to snowshoes.
Driving through Showkawa Valley, I had dreams of ancient sakura trees rolling out the red carpet of blossoms just for me. But alas, it seems those trees are just a bit too lazy for a spring debut, remaining totally dormant with no hint of cherry blossom buzz.
A bit puzzled yet utterly fascinated by this unpredictable nature, I made a short video of my flight over Showkawa Valley with my trusty drone. No cherry blossoms yet, but the serene landscape is still worth seeing.
