Today, my cousin and her partner joined me and Hiromi for a delightful adventure at a hidden gem in Tsukechi Town โ the beautiful Iwana No Sato Hazama. This enchanting restaurant is nestled in a landscape known for its pristine, clear blue and green waters, breathtaking gorges, and cascading waterfalls. If you’re seeking a tranquil getaway, this is the place to be!
Iwana No Sato Hazama is located at 258-15 Tsukechicho, Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The journey begins with a picturesque stroll across a suspension bridge that connects you to the restaurant. Just a friendly reminder: you can only cross with a maximum of three people at a time, so hold onto your excitement and skip the bridge-shaking antics!

Once inside, prepare for a culinary experience like no other. The restaurant showcases dishes featuring โiwanaโ (Japanese char), made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that highlight the regionโs bountiful offerings. The wild vegetables and soba noodles perfectly complement the beautifully presented meals, enhancing your dining pleasure. With only 40 seats available and daily ingredients limited, arriving early is a must to savor their signature dishes.

Iwana No Sato Hazama operates from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and takes a winter break from December to February. So be sure to plan your visit wisely!
One of the best parts of this excursion is the stunning nearby Tsukechi Gorge. With its curved formations and vibrant foliage, it truly captures the beauty of nature. Perfect for a leisurely stroll after your meal, the gorge is an idyllic setting that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired.

Getting to Iwana No Sato Hazama requires a bit of a drive, making it an ideal destination for car or motorcycle enthusiasts. Youโll likely encounter fellow Japanese tourists and visitors who share a love for nature and serenity.
If you’re a lover of the outdoors and delicious food, then add this destination to your must-visit list!
