Yesterday, I found myself in Takayama again, wandering into a shop that sold local specialties. In that very same shop I bought myself a bottle of Hida Takayama blended whisky, which I wrote about in my last blog post. But as I was browsing further, something else caught my eyeโHida Takayama All-In-One cream by Funasaka Shuzo.
Now, I donโt usually go around buying skincare products on a whim. Iโm a simple guy when it comes to skincare. Nivea has been my go-to cream for yearsโuncomplicated, reliable, does the job. But I was running out, and here was this intriguing, sake-based moisturizer staring back at me. Curiosity got the better of me. How often do you get to try a skincare product made by a sake brewery, after all?
Iโll admit, skincare is often seen as a bit of a feminine topic, but I donโt careโI have dry skin, and I like keeping it in decent shape. So, I figured, why not? If nothing else, it would be an interesting experiment, and hey, if it didnโt work out, at least it would make for an amusing blog post.
Now, I havenโt actually applied this new cream yet, but I was intrigued by the sake-based formula. Itโs not every day you see skincare infused with ingredients straight from a sake brewery. Will it be the holy grail of hydration, or will I end up smelling like I just walked out of a drinking contest? That remains to be seen. But if people are genuinely interested, I might just give it a serious review. Who knew Iโd be adding โskincare criticโ to my list of blogging topics?
