Scenic Drive from Davos to Locarno

I hadn’t initially planned to drive from Davos to Locarno on my journey through Switzerland. However, it soon became clear that this was the most sensible choice. Originally, I intended to traverse the Gotthard Pass from Suhr to Tessin, but after spending two nights in Davos, heading directly to Locarno felt like the right decision.

Despite the rain drenching this Monday, we embarked on a drive through breathtaking valleys, choosing the scenic route over the San Bernardino Pass instead of the 6-kilometer tunnel that would have deprived us of the stunning views.

It was my first experience driving over the pass, and I was just as mesmerized as Hiromi when we paused at the summit of San Bernardino. The misty, rainy weather did little to obscure the breathtaking landscapes, which resembled masterpieces of nature’s artistry. Words fail to capture the beauty we witnessed, so I believe the pictures will narrate the story far better.
