Heavy Rainfall in Japan: New Challenges

The typhoon alert for Shanshan has been downgraded, yet heavy rainfall is anticipated throughout wide areas of Japan.

To be honest, I hadn’t anticipated such substantial rainfall in Japan, given my prior experience of abundant rain in the Netherlands. Nevertheless, the tropical nature of the rainfall here doesn’t evoke the same sense of depression or coldness as the rain in the Netherlands.

Living in Japan offers numerous benefits and new adventures; however, the challenges posed by earthquakes, high humidity, typhoons, floods, and swollen rivers are distinct.

Yet, I’ve embraced Japan as part of my new journey, akin to my experience with the cold, icy, drizzly winds, and lack of sunlight in the Netherlands.

The problems don’t vanish; they merely manifest in different forms.

C’est la vie!
