Just released our fine dining experience on my Youtube channel.
It took me until the last moment this week to release because over the past few days, I created multiple video versions of our day trip to Gujo Hachiman on 24th August.
Initially, we went to celebrate Hiromi’s Birthday for lunch at Suzume No Iori, and I had planned to feature our dining experience at the restaurant. However, I decided to make another video to pique viewers’ curiosity about Gujo Hachiman, a charming town we’ve visited many times before.
Unfortunately, my attempts to create an inspiring “Come Visit Gujo Hachiman” video didn’t go as planned. I had to use old footage in picture format instead of video, which meant I lacked recorded key features of the town. I had to resort to using b-roll from elsewhere and a voice-over for the video’s narrative.
Ultimately, the video didn’t work well; it looked and felt unnatural, and the scripted narrative sounded emotionless. Hiromi provided honest feedback on my video drafts, and despite the long hours spent editing until 3 am, it was tough to hear.
Despite the challenges, I’ve made peace with publishing the video about our visit to Suzume No Iori. While it may not showcase much of Gujo Hachiman, I was committed to releasing a weekly video for you. Although it may not appeal to all viewers, perhaps this week’s video will help make Suzume No Iori more popular and attract more customers. If it helps them, it’s a good deed done.
As always, your feedback and comments are welcome. Here’s the video:
