Today, we ventured to the 21st Century Park in Seki to explore the Itadori Kabusugi-no-Mori Course.

Nestled within the expansive 21st Century Park, the Itadori Kabusugi-no-Mori Course offers a serene and picturesque nature experience, renowned for its magnificent Kabusugi cedar trees that dominate the landscape.

In Japan, Kabusugi cedar trees hold profound cultural significance, symbolizing longevity and resilience. This course provides an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquil atmosphere of the forest and marvel at the majestic beauty of these ancient trees.

Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks or invigorating hikes along well-maintained trails, enveloped by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature. The park serves as a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle and bustle, perfect for relaxation, recreation, and contemplation.

Aside from its natural splendor, the Itadori Kabusugi-no-Mori Course offers amenities such as picnic areas, observation decks, and informative signage about the local flora and fauna. As we embarked on our journey, we marveled at the colossal cedar trees, each displaying unique shapes and sizes. It was a spectacle, almost magical, witnessing such towering giants within the forest.

Our adventure took us further as we aimed to ascend the mountain. Although the trail seemed promising from the map, after two hours of hiking, fatigue set in. Inquiring with fellow hikers, we learned the summit was still approximately 2500 meters away. Realizing our limitations and the time constraints, we decided to turn back around 13:30, with the peak still distant. It was disappointing not to reach our goal, but a valuable lesson in proper preparation.

Reflecting on our experience, we found the hiking trail captivating, despite our unfinished journey. We resolved to return better equipped, with ample provisions and a well-defined plan, ensuring a successful summit attempt.

This excursion served as a reminder to meticulously plan and prepare for future hikes, a lesson we’ll carry with us on our future adventures.
