My blogging journey kicked off last year when I relocated to Japan in March. Initially, I shared my short stories on Instagram, later shifting to daily blog posts on Blogger. Recently, feeling constrained by Blogger’s limitations, I’ve launched this WordPress blog you’re now visiting.

The decision to post a short story each day stemmed from my desire to integrate storytelling into my daily routine, akin to riding a bike. While it’s no easy feat to conjure fresh content daily, it’s not insurmountable. Admittedly, my posts might not captivate everyone, but that wasn’t my primary concern. I aimed to share snippets of my life in Japan, every day, in whatever form felt authentic.

Lately, I’ve upgraded my video equipment, reigniting my interest in creating video content on YouTube. I recently shared a video detailing “My First Yakiniku Experience” and another where I experimented with a non-traditional spaghetti carbonara recipe. However, after receiving constructive criticism from my wife, I’ve opted not to publish the latter. It’s led me to contemplate my target audience for video content.

Similarly, I’m reevaluating my approach to blog content. Previously, I adopted a broad strategy, casting a wide net with my topics. Moving forward, I intend to hone in on a specific niche that resonates with me deeply, something I can write about passionately, rather than addressing random topics.

To streamline my efforts, I’m considering aligning my vlog content with my blog posts, focusing on a singular niche. It seems more cohesive and efficient to cater to a unified audience rather than fragmenting my content across disparate platforms.

The looming question now is: who exactly is my target audience?

For now, I’ll keep you updated as I navigate this decision-making process. Your feedback on which topics resonated most with you would be invaluable in helping me narrow down my niche sooner.

Thank you for joining me on this journey
