Behold the magical majesty of Mount Fuji, a celestial kiss between earth and sky. Ringing in the new year, my wife and I treated ourselves to the Fuji Speedway Hotel nestled at the base of this awe-inspiring peak.

As we journeyed from Gifu to Shizuoka, rain and mist enveloped us, casting doubt on the possibility of a clear view of Mount Fuji. Our fears seemed confirmed upon reaching the hotel, where the mountain remained shrouded in clouds.

After a delightful lunch at the hotel, we embarked on a drive through the surrounding areas, seeking the perfect Kodak moment. Despite our efforts, Mount Fuji remained elusive from every angle.

Our luck changed in Oshino Hakkai, renowned for its spring water and ponds. Initially ensnared in a tourist-laden maze, we broke free and witnessed Mount Fuji slowly unveiling itself to the world. The moment was nothing short of magical, showcasing the mountain’s majestic grandeur.
