๐ŸŒ Now, why this number? Well, it’s just a little attention grabber.
Next Monday, I will a trip from Kasamatsu to Tokyo, not just for a casual bike ride but to surrender my biometric information at the Swiss Embassy in Japan. The reason? Renewing my Swiss Passport and ID card, which are soon to expire.
In the Netherlands, the Swiss Embassy was a stone’s throw away in The Hague when I lived in Rijswijk. Now, traveling from Kasamatsu to Tokyo takes a good 3 hours, Shinkansen style. ๐Ÿš„
Thanks to the Japanese railway system and the Shinkansen rushing at +250 km per hour between Nagoya and Tokyo, the journey is a relatively speaking a breeze. Without this high-speed marvel, a car ride would take me 4 hours and 47 minutes.
Flying ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ฌ 55 minutes from Chubu Centrair to Haneda Airport is an option too, but that excludes the time to and from the airports. So, my preferred way of for this trip remains the swift and scenic train ride.
What’s nice about the train ride between Nagoya and Tokyo๐Ÿ—ผis that I get to see Mount Fuji ๐Ÿ—ป from afar, if the weather conditions allow it. Fingers crossed!๐Ÿคž
