Currently at Singapore Changi Airport, waiting for my next flight to Schiphol. โ๏ธ
Air travel can be a mixed bag, especially when it comes to in-flight food. But let’s cut the airlines some slack; preparing fresh meals on an airplane is quite the challenge! ๐ฝ๏ธ
A big shoutout to the patient flight attendants who cater to all of us grumpy passengers with special needs. ๐โ๏ธ
The pandemic has done a number on flight ticket prices, also for direct flights from Japan to the Netherlands. ๐โ๏ธ
Luckily, indirect flights with stopovers remain more budget-friendly, though they’re not quite back to pre-pandemic levels. We adapt to what we can’t change. ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ธ
During my layover in Singapore, I’m savoring a delicious buffet at the Marhaba lounge. Nothing beats freshly cooked food over fast food at the terminal! ๐ฒโ๏ธ
And the icing on the cake? They offer showers and towels for a quick refresh before my next flight. Airport lounges have become a welcome part of my long-distance travel routine. ๐ฟ๐ซ
One gripe, though: Fresh fruits are a rarity in most lounges. But here at the Marhaba lounge, I’m delighted to find not just sugary treats but also wholesome chicken and fish meals and freshly cut fruits. ๐๐๐ฅ
